Runnymede Hotel

Hotel painting and decorating Egham at the Runnymede on Thames formed part of a major expansion to this riverside hotel. Elliot Group delivered a new 23 bedroom block and a linked auditorium that connected to the existing building. Because the site sits beside the River Thames, the ground floor stood on concrete columns to reduce flood risk. The structure used a steel frame with SFS and rainscreen cladding. Despite the scale, the hotel remained open, so careful sequencing and protection were essential throughout.

Nora Building handled painting and decorating to the new bedrooms, corridors and the auditorium as part of a Cat B fit out. We coordinated daily with site teams to keep the programme on track and to return rooms to service in short phases. In addition, we planned access so joinery, MEP and FF&E could progress without delay. Our scope covered walls and ceilings, woodwork and metalwork, stain blocking where required and fine finishing to doors and frames. Furthermore, we used brush, roller and spray methods to achieve an even, repeatable finish. Colours followed approved samples, while high wear zones received protective coatings for durability. Finally, each phase closed with joint inspections, snagging and sign off.

Live hotel work demands control and care. Therefore, we planned quiet hours, managed odour and noise with low-odour products and ventilation, and protected floors and fixtures. However, guest routes remained open with clear signage and clean pathways. As a result, the hotel continued to operate while areas progressed to handover.

The outcome was a consistent, high quality finish across bedrooms, corridors and public areas that read as part of the existing hotel. Overall, this case study shows hotel painting and decorating Egham delivered to specification, to programme and with minimal disruption.
