Residential painting and decorating Farringdon at Mount Pleasant formed the closing phases of the Postmark masterplan. The project delivered 370 mixed tenure homes across five buildings from six to fifteen storeys. These blocks sat over a basement above the old postal rail tunnels, so design and sequencing needed extra care. The homes were designed to meet BREEAM Very Good and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. An underground car park and new public realm completed the development.
Nora Building painted and decorated the apartments and shared areas. Our work covered walls, ceilings, woodwork and metalwork, with local prep and stain blocking where needed. We also finished stair cores, lobbies and corridors. In addition, we carried out French polishing to feature joinery. Finally, we handled snagging and touch ups to bring each area to handover quality.
Because the site was large and multi block, delivery needed clear phasing. Therefore we worked by block and floor so finished homes could move to marketing and move in while other areas continued. Meanwhile we protected floors and fixtures and kept clean access routes. We also worked daily with McAleer & Rushe and other trades to maintain programme. Moreover, high traffic routes received hard wearing coatings to support cleaning and long life. Finally each phase closed with joint inspections, short snag lists and sign off.
The result was tidy, consistent finishes across homes and communal routes. Apartments felt calm and bright, while shared spaces looked tough and clean. Overall, this case study shows residential painting and decorating Farringdon delivered to specification, on programme and with minimal disruption.
